Charles Patawaran is the President of RE/MAX Commercial Real Estate Advisors, bringing extensive expertise in investment sales with a strong focus on healthcare and senior housing assets, including Assisted Living Facilities and Medical Office Buildings. He is also a seasoned Mergers & Acquisitions advisor, known for providing strategic guidance through complex and high-value transactions.

Charles holds a background in Technical Management with a concentration in Healthcare Administration from DeVry University, equipping him with a deep understanding of healthcare-driven investments. He earned the prestigious Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation in May 2025 and possesses strong knowledge of commercial lending and SBA financing. Under his leadership, Gatsby Advisory Group is driven by a commitment to exceptional execution, industry expertise, and long-term client relationships.

Michael Shanks, CPM® is the Managing Director of the Retail Advisory division at Gatsby Advisory Group. With 10+ years of experience, he brings extensive expertise across finance, sales, and real estate operations. As a former Asset-Based Lending Agent, he managed complex multimillion-dollar financing deals, and as Vice President of Property & Asset Management for a real estate investment trust, he oversaw large-scale portfolios and strategic asset planning. Michael has worked with prominent firms such as Marcus & Millichap and Maz Real Estate, and holds the Certified Property Manager (CPM®) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management, reflecting his commitment to operational excellence and industry leadership.

Steve Schemmel serves as the Managing Director of Healthcare for REMAX Commercial Real Estate Advisors and
Gatsby Advisors. He’s currently pursuing the prestigious CCIM Designation, a globally recognized credential in
commercial real estate investment and analysis. Steve has successfully completed CI 101 and is on track to earn his
designation by 2027. Today, he leads our healthcare division with over $30MM in assisted living facility transactions.

Jaden Tran specializes in healthcare advisory with a focus on assisted living, memory care, senior housing, and healthcare-related real estate and M&A transactions. With a background in commercial transaction coordination, he brings hands-on experience in acquisitions, dispositions, valuations, due diligence, and contract management. Jaden works closely with owners, operators, investors, and buyers to navigate complex transactions and provide practical guidance aligned with their investment and operational goals.

Lysa Tran is a highly skilled professional with a diverse range of expertise that spans multiple crucial areas within the financial and real estate sectors. With a wealth of experience in life insurance, credit repair, sales, leasing, SBA lending, and investing, Lysa brings a multifaceted approach to her work. Currently, she holds a real estate license with Gatsby Advisors, where she adeptly harnesses her extensive knowledge and expertise to assist clients in navigating the intricacies of buying, selling, and investing in real estate. Her comprehensive background in these fields makes her a trusted resource for individuals and businesses alike, as they seek financial security and success in today's competitive and ever-evolving market.

Adham Assem, based in Dallas, brings a decade of experience in property management to Re/Max Commercial Real Estate Advisors. Adham graduated from the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University with a double major in Marketing & Management and Certification in Leadership.

Ken Head serves as Managing Director of Hospitality for RE/MAX Commercial Real Estate Advisors, bringing extensive experience in real estate, hospitality, business development, and executive leadership. He began investing in real estate while still in college and has since built a career across several investment brokerages, now leading the firm's hospitality portfolio and creating opportunities for hospitality owners, investors, and developers.

A graduate of Texas State University, Ken brings an entrepreneurial edge shaped by leadership roles including President and Partner of Tetts Jewelry, Inc., Executive Vice President and Partner of Dataware, Inc., and his current role as Vice President of Savant Energy. He is also a past President of the Imperial Lions Club of Sugar Land and has supported organizations including the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Special Olympics, and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
